Yves Klein was a French visual artist born in Nice on April 28, 1928, and passed away in Paris on July 6, 1962.
Coming from a family of artists, he did not initially intend to pursue a career in art, opting instead for studies to become an officer in the merchant navy. However, in 1956, he created the iconic International Klein Blue (IKB), a unique shade of blue that he believed to be the perfect expression of the color. This year also marked a significant turning point in his career, as his reputation grew following his exhibition “Yves, Propositions Monochromes” in Paris.
