Urban fragments, torn aesthetics
Under the name Lasveguix, Guillaume Picart explores the layers of the city as one would leaf through a palimpsest. Inspired by the affichistes of Nouveau Réalisme – notably Jacques Villeglé – he develops a practice centered on the urban poster: torn, ripped, re-glued, reworked posters, where the accident becomes an artistic gesture.
He refers to his works as "wall skins", as living fragments ripped from the skin of the city. Each composition, raw and layered, reflects what is written and torn in public space. Disappearing typographies, popular visuals, outdated slogans… everything becomes material for visual and poetic recomposition.
His pieces emerge from this tension between chaos and order, between chance and intention. Far from simple collage, he gives form and voice to the ephemeral urban stories, capturing what the walls scream, hide, or forget.
Lasveguix does not merely document the city: he reinterprets it, layer by layer, to reveal what it does not always say about itself.
