1966
Clet Abraham is a French-born artist, born in 1966. Since the 1990s, he has been residing in Florence, Italy.
He trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Rennes and now works in his studio in Florence. His work consists of altering road signs to create original, brightly colored pieces with a touch of humor. He critiques the coldness of traffic signage by adding a more human dimension to signs that symbolize rules and order. It was in Florence that Clet made his first alterations, cutting stickers and applying them to street signs.
His creations are now visible in major European capitals: Paris, Rome, London, Turin, Milan, and Barcelona.
